Court Hears Harrowing Details of Woman’s Alleged Murder by Husband in South London Home

LONDON, ENGLAND – A tragic incident unfolded in Forest Hill, London, as the body of 32-year-old Tia Simmonds was discovered in the attic of her home on January 3. The grim discovery has led to her husband, Shane Simmonds, being charged with her murder. In addition to the murder charge, Shane Simmonds is also facing two counts of rape against a teenage girl.

The court proceedings revealed that Tia Simmonds’ body was found covered in clothing and bedding in their Parbury Road property. It is reported that a knife was also found in the attic’s en-suite bathroom area. Shane Simmonds was subsequently arrested on the same day after voluntarily attending a police station. The prosecutor, Julia Faure Walker, testified that police officers found Mrs. Simmonds ‘lying face down on her front’ in the converted loft of their home. The defendant has been instructed to appear in court again on March 25 to enter his pleas, and a provisional trial date has been set for October 14.
