Colorado Musician and Father Killed by Suspected Drunken Driver in Tragic Arvada Crash

Arvada, Colorado – A tragic incident unfolded on Monday when a Colorado musician and father of two lost his life in a multi-vehicle crash caused by a suspected drunken driver. The fatal collision occurred near West 64th Avenue and Lamar Street in Arvada, resulting in the death of 44-year-old Kresten Wolff Thomsen, the driver of a maroon Toyota sedan.

Authorities were alerted to the accident at 3:39 p.m. when a silver GMC pickup truck ran a red light at Lamar Street, striking the Toyota sedan and a gray Ford Bronco. While the initial reports indicated a four-vehicle crash, further investigation revealed that only three vehicles were involved in the collision.

Tragically, the impact of the crash caused the Toyota to veer off the road and crash into a nearby home. Thomsen tragically succumbed to his injuries at the scene, while his two children who were also in the vehicle sustained injuries and were rushed to the hospital for medical treatment.

The driver of the GMC truck, identified as 23-year-old Juan Ortega Torres Jr., was also injured in the crash and is currently in police custody. The Arvada Police Department stated that alcohol and speed are believed to have played a role in the tragic incident.
