Clinton Township, Michigan – A site of multiple explosions in Clinton Township continues to smolder and occasionally catch fire four days after the incident took place, raising concerns among residents and authorities alike. The aftermath of Monday night’s fire and blasts at the location of 15 Mile and Groesbeck has left behind a chaotic scene of debris, including structural steel beams, that complicates efforts to fully extinguish the flames.
Clinton Township Fire Chief Tim Duncan reported that there are two main hot spots on the west side of the building, where firefighters are diligently applying water to control the situation. Over 2 million gallons of water have already been used in the ongoing operation to contain the fires and prevent further damage.
Despite the persistent efforts to keep the flames at bay, authorities anticipate that the fires may not be fully extinguished until the steel covering the hot spots is removed.
