British Woman Found Dead in Indian Holiday Hotspot Goan Beach, Police Rule Out Foul Play

GOA, India – A 46-year-old British woman has been found dead in the Indian holiday hotspot of southern Goa. Local police have ruled out foul play as the cause of death.

The woman’s body was discovered on a beach in Goa by a group of locals who immediately reported the incident to authorities. The body was found on a church complex adjacent to Agonda beach, close to the city of Canacona.

According to police inspector Chandrakant Gawas, the woman was found with no injuries, and her belongings, including her mobile phone and identification, were undisturbed. The police do not suspect foul play and are awaiting the results of the postmortem to determine the cause of death.

The woman, described as a frequent visitor to Goa, was traveling with friends at the time of her death. Her friends and family have been informed of the tragic incident, and the consulate and embassy are in the loop. The woman’s body has been sent for a post-mortem examination at a district hospital.

The Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office has confirmed that they are supporting the woman’s family and are in touch with local authorities. The investigation is ongoing, and further details are expected after the completion of formalities.
