Authorities Seek Public’s Help in Identifying Final Victim of Happy Face Killer

Riverside County, California – Authorities in Riverside County, California have identified all of the victims of the notorious “Happy Face Killer,” except for one unidentified woman. The killer, Keith Hunter Jesperson, pleaded guilty to the murder of this woman in 2010, but her identity still remains a mystery. Jesperson, who earned his nickname from the happy face drawings he left on letters to the media and police, confessed to a total of eight murders across the United States. He is currently serving multiple life sentences for his crimes.

The woman, referred to as “Claudia,” was picked up by Jesperson after hitchhiking out of Las Vegas, according to Jesperson’s own account. Her body was found dumped on the side of the road in Riverside County. Authorities are seeking the public’s help in identifying this woman, who is believed to have been from southern California. She was described as a 25- to 35-year-old white woman with fair complexion, medium build, and brown or dyed blond hair. She also had a tattoo of two dots on the side of her right thumb.

The Riverside County district attorney expressed hope that someone hearing these details may be able to help identify the victim and provide closure to her family, who have been searching for her for over three decades. The identification of this woman is crucial in bringing justice and comfort to her loved ones. It is a small but necessary step in the long process of healing for those affected by the “Happy Face Killer’s” heinous crimes.

Despite Jesperson’s confession, the false statement he made initially led to the continuance of his killing spree. Investigative efforts continue to uncover the full extent of his crimes and provide closure to the families of his victims.
