Arrest Made in Tuscaloosa Fatal Shooting That Leaves One Dead and Three Injured

Tuscaloosa, Alabama – Authorities have arrested a suspect in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred on Sunday morning, resulting in the death of one man and injuries to three others.

The victim, identified as Donavin Ryans, 30, was tragically killed in the shooting that took place in the 1300 block of 58th Street, just outside the Tuscaloosa city limits. The three other individuals injured in the incident are currently recovering from non-life-threatening wounds.

Following interviews with witnesses and a thorough investigation of the scene, 22-year-old Gredrick Agnew was identified as the suspect responsible for the violent act. According to Captain Jack Kennedy, commander of the Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit, the victims were targeted by Agnew after he was asked to leave a small party or gathering taking place inside the residence.

Agnew allegedly fired shots into the house through an open door from outside, striking the victims and ultimately causing the death of Ryans. As a result, Agnew faces capital murder charges, with an additional felony charge of firing into an occupied dwelling.

After fleeing the scene of the crime, Agnew was pursued by investigators, eventually being apprehended in Marengo County with the assistance of the U.S. Marshall’s Task Force. Currently, Agnew is being held without bond at the Tuscaloosa County Jail on the capital murder charge.

Kennedy mentioned that Agnew is expected to face several more charges as the case progresses and in consultation with the District Attorney’s Office. The motive for the shooting remains under investigation as authorities work to piece together the events leading up to the tragic incident.

Authorities urge anyone with information related to the shooting or who may have witnessed the events unfold to come forward and assist in the ongoing investigation. The community is encouraged to aid law enforcement in seeking justice for the victims and holding those responsible accountable for their actions.
