Arrest Made in Connection with Pomona Woman’s Suspicious Death

Pomona, California – A man has recently been taken into custody on suspicion of murder in connection with the tragic death of a young woman in Pomona earlier this year. The arrest, made by the Pomona Police Department Special Investigation Unit, sheds light on the investigation that started in February.

The incident unfolded on February 26 when authorities responded to a distress call regarding a possible fentanyl overdose at a residence on West Holt Avenue in Pomona. Upon arrival, officers discovered 25-year-old Andrea Bustillos unconscious, with visible injuries. Despite efforts from firefighters, Bustillos was pronounced dead at the scene.

Following an extensive investigation, 43-year-old Tommy Ray Belin was identified as the prime suspect in the case. Belin was apprehended in Upland and later booked at the Pomona City Jail on charges including murder, assault, and failure to register as a sex offender upon changing residency.

Questions linger regarding the exact cause of Bustillos’s death, as authorities investigate whether it resulted from an overdose or the injuries she sustained. The circumstances that led to Belin’s identification as a suspect remain undisclosed, underlining the ongoing nature of the case and the need for further inquiry.

The arrest serves as a crucial development in the pursuit of justice for Bustillos and her loved ones. As the investigation continues, authorities work tirelessly to unravel the events surrounding the tragic incident and ensure that justice is served. The community remains vigilant as details emerge and the legal process unfolds, seeking closure and accountability in the wake of this devastating loss.
