4 Year Prison Sentence for Illinois Man Involved in Fatal Hit-and-Run Crash with Retired Chicago Police Officer

CHICAGO, Illinois – After a hit-and-run crash resulted in the death of a retired Chicago police officer, Ted Plevritis of Palatine, Illinois has been sentenced to over four years in prison. Plevritis struck and killed Rick Haljean while driving in Chicago’s Edison Park neighborhood. He surrendered to police about a month after Haljean’s death.
