29-Year-Old Suspect Arrested for Attempted Murder After Robbing Man Inside Beverly Hills Apartment

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. – Police in Beverly Hills have arrested a 29-year-old suspect on charges of attempted murder after an armed robbery in an apartment building, authorities announced Thursday.

The incident took place on January 6, just after 6:30 p.m. at an apartment complex in the 200 block of South Hamilton Drive, according to a news release from the Beverly Hills Police Department.

The victim, a resident of the building, was held at gunpoint by the suspect, identified as Los Angeles resident Randy Miller, as he entered the building. Miller demanded the victim’s necklace and watch, and allegedly pulled the gun’s trigger twice during the robbery, although no shots were fired, police said. He then fled the scene with the victim’s belongings.

After reviewing surveillance footage from inside the apartment building, detectives identified and located Miller. He was arrested on Jan. 18, following the issuance of a warrant. Evidence of the Jan. 6 robbery and two stolen vehicles were also recovered.

In addition to the attempted murder and robbery charges, Miller is wanted for robbery out of Colorado. He is currently being held in the Beverly Hills Police Department Jail on $100,000 bail and is due to appear in court on Jan. 22.
