Tragic Multi-Vehicle Crash in Singapore Claims Two Lives at Tampines Junction

Singapore – Two people lost their lives in a tragic road accident involving multiple vehicles at the intersection of Tampines Avenue 1 and Tampines Avenue 4 on Monday. The accident, which included four cars, a van, and a minibus, resulted in the deaths of a 17-year-old female car passenger and a 57-year-old female van passenger who were taken to the hospital and later succumbed to their injuries.

Reports indicate that one of the deceased individuals was a passenger in a car that overturned during the collision. The victim was identified as a first-year student at Temasek Junior College, located on Tampines Avenue 9. The student was reportedly en route to participate in the annual TJC Run when the tragedy occurred.

Principal Liu Earnler of TJC expressed deep sorrow over the loss of the student, offering support to the affected students and staff during this challenging time. The second victim was associated with First Choice Pest Specialist, a pest control firm situated in the area, as per The Straits Times.

In addition to the fatalities, several individuals were transported to various hospitals for treatment, including three male car drivers aged between 42 and 48, a 64-year-old male van driver, an 11-year-old male car passenger, and an 11-year-old male minibus passenger. The police are currently investigating the incident, with one of the car drivers assisting with the inquiries.

Emergency responders from the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) arrived at the scene shortly after the accident, where they found a person with a leg trapped under a car. The SCDF utilized hydraulic rescue equipment to free the individual’s leg and transported several injured individuals to different hospitals for medical care.

Video footage shared on social media showcased the aftermath of the accident, revealing the extent of the damage and the presence of law enforcement and emergency personnel at the scene. Investigations into the incident are ongoing, with authorities commending members of the public who assisted the injured individuals following the crash.
