Strange Twist in Unsolved Double Murder Case Unveiled: Dead Suspect Linked to 2018 Arizona Couple’s Deaths

Littlefield, Arizona – The unsolved double murder of Jerry and Susan McFalls took a strange turn recently when Mohave County officials received a tip leading to the identification of the true killer. However, the perpetrator, Kenneth Snyder, is no longer alive, raising questions about the future of the case.

Jerry and Susan McFalls were discovered dead in a shallow grave in 2018, sparking an investigation that remained unresolved until the recent revelation linking Snyder to the murders. Despite not being able to arrest Snyder due to his demise in 2023, authorities have attributed the deaths to him.

Retired cold case detective Troy Hillman expressed that while the identification of the suspect provides a sense of closure, it still leaves the case in limbo. The family of the victims also shared a bittersweet sentiment, acknowledging the end of a long search for answers.

The McFalls family’s ordeal began in January 2018 when they were reported missing, only to be found nine months later in a shallow desert grave. While Susan was identified shortly after the discovery, it took until 2020 for Jerry to be positively identified through DNA analysis.

The breakthrough in the case came when a witness came forward, alleging that Snyder had murdered the couple following an altercation. The witness, fearing for their life, only revealed the information after Snyder’s passing due to a domestic violence incident.

Upon corroborating the witness’s account, law enforcement agencies in Mohave County sought formal review by the county attorney, ultimately bringing some closure to the case. Detectives were able to match evidence found in Snyder’s vehicle to the crime, though DNA testing was inconclusive.

The resolution of the case, while bringing some relief to both authorities and the victim’s family, underscores the challenge of seeking justice when the perpetrator is no longer alive. Despite the closure, the McFalls family expressed gratitude for the support received throughout their ordeal, signaling a new chapter in their lives.
