Man Sentenced to Death for Killing Ex-Girlfriend and Daughter in Fort Worth Double Homicide

FORT WORTH, Texas – In a heartbreaking turn of events, a man from North Texas has been sentenced to death after being found guilty of the brutal murders of his former girlfriend and her young daughter in east Fort Worth back in 2018.

The tragic incident unfolded when Paige Terrell Lawyer viciously took the lives of 30-year-old O’Tishae Womack and 10-year-old Ka’Myria Womack. According to Tarrant County Assistant District Attorneys Lloyd Whelchel and Dale Smith, the sisters encountered Lawyer multiple times before the gruesome events unfolded on April 5, 2018.

The next day, O’Tishae Womack mysteriously disappeared, failing to meet her sister for their routine morning walk. Concerned and unable to reach her through calls or visits, her sister Lashundra gained access to O’Tishae’s apartment, where the horrific scene of the murders unfolded.

Inside the apartment, Lashundra discovered the lifeless bodies of O’Tishae and Ka’Myria – both victims of a brutal strangulation. The prosecutors described the chilling discovery, with O’Tishae found on the kitchen floor covered in blood with a bag over her head, and Ka’Myria upstairs in a bedroom.

Subsequent investigations led to Lawyer’s arrest near Nashville, Tenn., where he allegedly confessed to his uncle. Prosecutors uncovered damning evidence linking Lawyer to the crime – his DNA was found on various items at the crime scene, implicating him in the heinous act.

The chilling motive behind the double homicide emerged during the trial, with prosecutors suggesting that O’Tishae and Ka’Myria were killed to prevent O’Tishae from testifying in an ongoing domestic violence case against Lawyer. The courtroom also heard about the unfathomable tragedy of Ka’Myria’s assault, further adding to the gravity of the crime.

As the sentencing phase unfolded, emotional testimonies brought to light the devastation that the murders had inflicted on the victims’ family. Lashundra, left to grapple with the loss of her sister and niece, delivered a powerful impact statement reflecting the pain and anguish caused by Lawyer’s incomprehensible actions.

In a poignant moment, Lashundra condemned Lawyer as a “murderer, a rapist, and a coward,” pledging that he would forever be remembered for the unimaginable suffering he had brought upon their family. The sentencing marked a somber conclusion to a harrowing chapter of loss and injustice that will forever haunt those touched by the senseless tragedy.
