Georgia High School Student Dies in Tragic Shooting Incident on Macon Road

COLUMBUS, Ga. – Authorities in Columbus, Georgia are investigating the tragic death of a high school student following a shooting incident on Macon Road near Lake Shore Road. The incident occurred late Saturday night when police responded to reports of gunshots in the area.

Upon arrival, officers discovered two vehicles with bullet holes and found two individuals inside each car suffering from gunshot wounds. One of the victims, identified as Daryus Bryant, succumbed to his injuries after being transported to Piedmont Hospital. The second victim, Clarence Flavors, underwent surgery, and his current condition remains unknown.

The Meriwether County School System confirmed that Daryus Bryant was a student at Manchester High School, expressing grief over his untimely passing and offering support to the community during this difficult time. The district described Bryant as a talented student who excelled in both academics and athletics.

While the school district has not released the identity of the other injured student, they emphasized that the safety and well-being of their students and staff are their top priorities. Counseling and support services will be made available on campus to help those affected by the tragedy.

Authorities have not disclosed the relationship between Clarence Flavors and Daryus Bryant or whether Flavors is also a student in the district.
