Woman Upgraded to Murder Charge in Death of 1-Month-Old Daughter

NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. – A mother in North Augusta, South Carolina is facing murder charges after authorities allege she caused the death of her 1-month-old daughter by shaking and squeezing her, resulting in several broken ribs and other injuries.

The incidents are said to have occurred between August 20th and October 15th, causing fatal harm to the infant named Charlotte. Charlotte was pronounced dead at her home on Rita Court in North Augusta on October 15th, 2023.

Jordan Fowler, the mother of the infant, was arrested in December 2023 and initially charged with Neglect of a Child. However, her charges have since been upgraded to murder following further investigation into the death of her daughter.
