Brisbane, Australia – Queensland Police are investigating a disturbing incident in which a 43-year-old woman was kidnapped and assaulted by a group of men. The victim, who did not know her attackers, was taken from a home in Doolandella on Friday and later found at a property in Forest Lake. The Queensland Police Acting Inspector, Michael Hogan, revealed that the woman was assaulted, placed in a vehicle, and then a firearm was discharged into the vehicle, though fortunately, no one was shot.
Following a tip-off from a member of the public, officers arrested four men at an address in Stafford Heights, with two of them later released. Two men, aged 18 and 20, have been charged with kidnapping, extortion, torture, armed robbery, and other offenses. The woman, who sustained non-life threatening injuries, has been released from the hospital.
Acting Inspector Hogan expressed the victim’s trauma from the ordeal, emphasizing that she had been significantly shaken and traumatised. The investigators have yet to identify the ages of further two men involved and are calling for them to come forward for questioning. Despite the severity of the incident, there is no indication of gang involvement at this stage, but the investigation remains open.
Crime scenes were set up at three properties, and a car was taken away for forensic examination. The authorities have urged anyone with information about the incident or footage from the area to come forward to assist with the investigation. Despite the shocking nature of the incident, the police have assured that there is no wider threat to the community.
