Tacoma, Washington – A woman was apprehended by Tacoma police late Friday night following a series of violent attacks where she allegedly assaulted two men and stole their vehicles. The incidents occurred in different locations, resulting in both victims being hospitalized with severe injuries.
The first incident unfolded around 3:30 p.m. in the 1100 block of South Highland Avenue, where the suspect, known to the victim, launched a brutal attack using an axe. After incapacitating the man, she fled the scene, taking his vehicle with her. The victim was rushed to the hospital for treatment of his injuries.
Later the same day, the woman abandoned the stolen vehicle and hailed an Uber. The unsuspecting Uber driver picked her up and drove her to the 3400 block of Ruston Way, near Les Davis Pier. However, the ride took a terrifying turn when the woman allegedly stabbed the Uber driver in the neck around 5 p.m., seizing control of the vehicle and fleeing the scene.
Responding swiftly, Tacoma police located the stolen Uber vehicle in the 7400 block of East F Street and apprehended the woman attempting to hide nearby. She now faces charges of assault and robbery as authorities investigate the motive behind the violent acts to ensure community safety.
Residents in the affected areas are urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to law enforcement. The victims are receiving medical care, with their families undoubtedly shaken by the traumatic events.
