Windsor, Canada — A violent robbery in Windsor has prompted police to issue an arrest warrant for 34-year-old Charles Leighton Taylor Pinnace, after an altercation that left another man critically injured. The incident occurred early Thursday morning in a rear alley on the 5200 block of Tecumseh Road East.
Responding to an emergency call shortly after 9 a.m., police found the victim with life-threatening injuries. He was quickly transported to a local hospital, where he remains in the intensive care unit.
The Windsor police major crimes unit, now leading the inquiry, pieced together events leading up to the assault from surveillance footage and witness statements. It appears that both men had exited a nearby establishment together around 2:30 a.m. before the attack ensued.
The footage obtained by investigators shows Pinnace allegedly striking the victim repeatedly in the head, leading to the severe injuries observed. These discoveries have led to charges of aggravated assault and violent robbery being filed against Pinnace.
Described as a Black male, approximately 5 feet, 10 inches tall, and weighing 200 pounds, Pinnace has black dreadlocks and brown eyes. Authorities have labeled him as dangerous and advise the public to avoid approaching him if seen.
