Williston, North Dakota – The Williston Fire and Police Departments collaborated to tackle a fire sparked by an air fryer explosion on the evening of Friday, March 29.
Firefighters received a report of an explosion and flames at a residential structure in Williston around 9:14 p.m. They quickly deployed two engines and a ladder truck, with support from the City of Williston’s PD and Emergency Management Department.
Upon arrival at 9:19 p.m., responders found all occupants safely outside the home, thanks to an officer from the Williston Police Department who had used a fire extinguisher to control the blaze.
Despite the main fire being extinguished, heavy smoke lingered inside the residence. Fire crews entered the building, ventilated the smoke, and confirmed that the fire was fully contained. A total of 17 firefighters worked to clear the scene by 10:01 p.m.
Fortunately, the fire damage was contained to the kitchen area, and no injuries were reported as a result of the incident, which authorities determined to be accidental. The collaborative efforts of the fire and police departments successfully prevented further damage and ensured the safety of the occupants.
