The previous attack by the group known as “Barbecue” had resulted in fatalities, and this new assault also failed as security units at the Palace, in collaboration with the Police, managed to repel the attackers. Despite their efforts, five police officers were reported injured, with one in serious condition.
The situation escalated as armed individuals, unable to breach the Palace, resorted to surrounding the area and even setting fire to an armored vehicle belonging to the Haitian National Police. The violent incidents spread across the metropolitan area, including Pernier, Champ de Mars, Capois, Lamarre streets, Carrefour Aeroport, Delmas, Clercine Nord, Cazeau, Frères, and Vivy Mitchell.
