CLOQUET, Minn. – The Cloquet Police Department has secured the area of Big Lake Road and Highway 33 after a tragic incident. The department reported that they have discovered one deceased person, whom they believe to be the shooter.
The incident unfolded at approximately 6:30 p.m., when an employee at the Super 8 Motel called 911 to report finding another hotel employee who had seemingly been attacked. Upon arrival, police found a 22-year-old woman with a gunshot wound. Despite being rushed to the hospital, she was tragically pronounced dead.
As the investigation continued, authorities found a 35-year-old man in a car in the hotel parking lot, also dead from a gunshot wound. Additionally, a 32-year-old man was found outside on the hotel property, also deceased from what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
The police stated that a gun was found next to the 32-year-old man, and after reviewing surveillance footage, they determined that he was the suspect in the incident.
