ENCINO, Calif. — An arrest has been made in connection with the fatal shooting of a prominent music supervisor and her husband, whose bodies were discovered in their home on Monday. Robin Kaye, 70, and her husband, Thomas Deluca, also 70, were identified as the victims by the Los Angeles Police Department.
Kaye previously served as a music supervisor for “American Idol,” a role she held for over a decade. The show’s representatives expressed profound sadness upon hearing of her passing, emphasizing her significant contributions and the affection felt for her within the show’s community.
Police apprehended 22-year-old Raymond Boodarian at his residence on Tuesday, a day after the victims were found. He faces charges of murder. Authorities conducted a wellness check at the couple’s home on the 4700 block of White Oak Avenue after being alerted to concerns about their well-being. Both were pronounced dead at the scene, discovered in separate rooms with multiple gunshot wounds.
The investigation revealed a troubling history, as detectives consulted surveillance footage and interviewed acquaintances of the victims. Notably, police had visited the property previously in July following a report of a possible burglary. However, they had been unable to enter due to the home’s fortified security features. They later discovered footage indicating that the suspect had entered the property by scaling a fence.
Based on additional evidence, investigators believe that Kaye and Deluca returned home while Boodarian was inside, leading to the fatal confrontation. After the shooting, Boodarian fled the scene on foot.
The LAPD used facial recognition software and security camera footage to track down Boodarian, resulting in his arrest by police detectives and FBI task force members. Court documents reveal that he has a prior history of violent offenses, although charges in past cases were dropped.
This shocking event has left the community in mourning and raised questions about safety in the area. Police are urging anyone with additional information about the case to step forward and assist in the investigation.
