Bokaro, India — A day marred by violence saw the district grappling with multiple fatalities linked to three separate incidents on Monday. An elderly couple was found murdered in their home, while a body bearing serious injuries was discovered near Tenughat Dam. Additionally, concerns are growing for a missing mason believed to be in peril.
Authorities reported that 67-year-old Mahavir Saw and his 63-year-old wife, Kaushalya Devi, were discovered in a pool of blood at their tea stall located in Joshi Colony. The Harla police station’s officer-in-charge, Mohammad Khurshid Alam, indicated that both victims sustained multiple stab wounds. The couple, who originally hailed from Barkhi-Chidri in Gomia Block, had their bodies sent for autopsies as police initiated a comprehensive investigation into their deaths.
In a separate incident, the body of an unidentified victim was found near a popular picnic spot at Tenughat. The discovery occurred early Monday morning, with law enforcement noting that the individual exhibited severe head and facial trauma. Tenughat outpost’s officer-in-charge, Bhajan Lal Mahato, speculated that the victim may have been murdered elsewhere before the body was abandoned in the area. Like the previous case, an autopsy has been requested.
Meanwhile, a troubling situation emerged in Chira Chas where family members of a missing mason, Pankaj Mahto, vandalized the residence of a local resident named Harsh Karmakar. Pankaj was reported missing after leaving for work on Sunday and failing to return home. Police intervened to rescue Harsh and his mother from the agitated crowd seeking answers about Pankaj’s whereabouts. The officer in charge of the Chira Chas station, Pushpraj, disclosed that Pankaj was last seen leaving around 4:30 PM, having left behind his phone, jacket, and motorbike.
