Tragic High-Speed Crash Claims Lives of Three Shreveport Teens

Shreveport, Louisiana – Tragedy struck in Shreveport as three teenagers lost their lives in a high-speed crash involving a stolen vehicle on North Market Street. The Caddo Parish Coroner’s Office identified the victims as 19-year-old Devion Patterson, 18-year-old Jamario Washington, and 17-year-old Zaleia Young, all pronounced dead at the scene. Autopsies have been ordered for the deceased individuals.

Shortly after 2 a.m. on Sunday, Caddo sheriff’s deputies responded to a major crash at the intersection of North Market and McDaniel Drive. The stolen 2005 Toyota Camry involved in the incident was found overturned at the scene. Investigations revealed that the Camry was speeding south on North Market when it lost control, crashing into curbs and ultimately flipping after colliding with a tree, coming to a rest upside down. Some of the occupants who were not wearing seat belts were ejected from the vehicle during the crash. Additionally, a stolen gun was found at the scene, adding another layer of complexity to the tragic event.
