Sangareddy, Telangana – A tragic incident unfolded on Wednesday evening as an explosion rocked a chemical factory in Sangareddy district, leaving five people dead and ten others injured, according to local authorities. The blast took place at SB Organics Private Ltd, a pharmaceutical company located in Chandapur village of Hatunura mandal, about 60 kilometers away from Hyderabad.
Reports from the scene revealed that approximately 60 workers were on shift at the factory during the time of the explosion, with 15 workers operating at the reactor. The explosion led to a massive fire engulfing the entire unit, causing the building of the factory to collapse due to the impact. Upon receiving the distress call, the Patancheru Police, led by Deputy Superintendent Ravinder Reddy, swiftly responded along with two fire tenders to conduct rescue operations.
Tragically, five bodies, including those of the production manager and shift in-charge, were recovered from the wreckage, while others who sustained injuries were rushed to nearby hospitals for medical treatment. The exact cause of the explosion remains under investigation, as authorities work diligently to piece together the events leading up to the tragic incident.
In the wake of the explosion, Sangareddy Superintendent of Police Ch Rupesh, State Minister Konda Surekha, Narasapur MLA Sunitha Laxma Reddy, and Bharatiya Janata Party candidate M Raghunandan Rao visited the factory to assess the situation and offer support to the affected individuals and families. Additionally, Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy took charge of reviewing the response efforts and urged the fire department to expedite rescue operations and contain the fire.
