Atlanta, Ga. — A drive-by shooting claimed the life of a 28-year-old driver late Sunday night, creating shockwaves in the downtown area. The incident occurred just after midnight near the intersection of Lynhurst Drive and Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, where witnesses reported hearing gunfire erupt while the driver of a black C8 Corvette was targeted.
According to police, the Corvette crashed shortly after the shooting. A passerby flagged down officers about 12:45 a.m. Monday, leading them to the scene where the car had collided with other structures near Food Mart ZTS. Emergency medical personnel arrived but were unable to revive the driver, who was pronounced dead at the site. Tragically, a woman waiting at a nearby bus stop was also killed when the Corvette lost control and struck her.
