The shooting occurred on January 21, 2026, when Rapatalo was allegedly confronted by Michael Anthony Thrasher Jr. outside his apartment. Investigators revealed that surveillance footage captured Thrasher banging on Rapatalo’s door, expressing his frustration over the loud music. What began as a complaint quickly escalated into a physical altercation, during which Thrasher is said to have fired his weapon, striking Rapatalo in the chest.
Family members of the victim expressed disbelief over the senseless nature of his death. “An argument over loud music?
