Tragedy Strikes Westchase Apartment Complex: Two Dead, One Injured in Suspected Murder-Suicide

HOUSTON, TEXAS – A tragic shooting at a Westchase apartment complex in Houston on Monday afternoon left three people shot, with two fatalities in what authorities believe to be a murder-suicide. The incident took place inside the leasing office of the Westchase Forest Apartments on Richmond Avenue in west Houston.

According to eyewitness Christian Velasquez, who was present at the leasing office with his wife and 4-month-old son, a gunman suddenly burst into the office, causing chaos and fear among the occupants. Velasquez described how the gunman targeted a woman who was assisting him with apartment hunting, as well as one of her coworkers.

The account provided by Velasquez detailed the harrowing moments as the gunman took the woman and her coworker into another room and subsequently shot and killed the woman, injured the man, and then turned the gun on himself. The eyewitness also described the frantic rush to flee the scene upon hearing the gunshots, expressing his disbelief at the violence that unfolded before his eyes.
