Tragedy Strikes DeKalb County: Suspect Captured After Fatal Shooting of Woman and Young Girl

DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — Authorities have arrested a man suspected of fatally shooting a woman and her young niece at an apartment complex on Friday afternoon. The incident unfolded shortly after 2:45 p.m., drawing a swift response from law enforcement to the site located near Interstate 20.

The victims have been identified as 29-year-old Tomika Pullins and 7-year-old Dior Scott. Officers reported that William Almond, 48, the child’s uncle and Pullins’ estranged husband, attempted to force his way inside the apartment. Witnesses described a chaotic scene as Almond allegedly broke a window and discharged multiple rounds, striking both victims.

Following the initial shooting, Almond fled the scene in a vehicle. However, police were able to track him down shortly after the incident, leading to his arrest. DeKalb County Police expressed gratitude for the efforts of their detectives, who were pivotal in quickly locating the suspect.
