Mangaluru, India – A violent clash in the village of Pudu in Ammermar, Mangaluru, left two young men, identified as Tasleem and Muhammad Shakeer, severely injured after they were attacked by a group wielding deadly weapons. Currently, both individuals are being treated in the intensive care unit of a local private hospital, highlighting the gravity of the assault.
The conflict reportedly started with a contentious phone call received by Tasleem, who was with friends Muhammad Shakeer, Nasir, Siyab, and Saifuddin at the time. The anonymous caller dared Tasleem to meet at a local crossroad near the Ammermar school, setting the stage for the ambush that followed.
Upon their arrival at the designated location, the group was brutally assaulted by another group, allegedly led by an individual named Mansoor, and included others identified as Pulti Imran, Mustaq also known as Mitcha, Sarpuddin, among additional participants. Eyewitness accounts describe a harrowing scene where Tasleem suffered a blow to the leg from a sword wielded by Pulti Imran, while Mustaq inflicted a deep gash on his hand. Sarpuddin used a stone to hit Tasleem, and Mansoor targeted his face with severe strikes.
Concurrently, Muhammad Shakeer faced brutal attacks with a sword, and others in the violent gathering, including individuals named Ashraf, Rizwan, and Latif, supplemented the onslaught using wooden sticks, compounding his injuries critically.
The swift response from local bystanders allowed both victims to be expedited to the hospital for urgent medical attention. The severity of their conditions prompted immediate admission to the ICU, signaling the critical nature of their wounds.
Local authorities at the Bantwal rural police station have taken charge of the investigation following the registration of the case.
