Teen Duo Charged After Violent Stabbing Incident on Norwich Night Out

Norwich, England — An 18-year-old man and a 17-year-old boy have faced justice for their roles in a violent confrontation that left two men seriously injured in the early hours of April 6 this year. The altercation occurred on Prince of Wales Road after both victims had left a local nightclub and were heading to a nearby kebab shop.

The chaotic incident began when the two victims accidentally collided with Iwo Grudowski and his young companion as they walked. Following the unexpected encounter, tensions escalated quickly, and a fistfight broke out outside a Tesco Express store. Witnesses say Grudowski pulled out a large kitchen knife mid-altercation, inflicting multiple stab wounds on one of the men involved in the scuffle.

As the violence unfolded, the second victim attempted to intervene but soon found himself pursued by the 17-year-old, who also wielded a weapon. The young assailant managed to catch up and stabbed the victim twice in the back of the head. Following the brutal attack, both victims collapsed on the ground and required urgent medical attention from paramedics. Grudowski was later apprehended at a railway station as he fled the scene.

Despite being initially charged with attempted murder, Grudowski was acquitted following a trial at Norwich Crown Court. However, he acknowledged lesser offenses of wounding with intent and possession of a knife. The 17-year-old was also held accountable for causing grievous bodily harm with intent and illegally carrying a bladed weapon.

The court proceedings revealed the serious nature of the injuries sustained by the victims. One man, who suffered six stab wounds, underwent surgery to remove a section of his intestine, while the other endured significant trauma, requiring extensive surgical intervention to repair severe head injuries and scar tissue.

Both defendants were scheduled to receive their sentences at King’s Lynn Crown Court, initially on Friday, November 28, but that date was rescheduled to December 1. The case highlights ongoing concerns about knife violence in urban areas, prompting discussions on the implications for community safety and youth crime.
