El Paso, Texas – The fatal shooting of 21-year-old Bryan Castillo at Vista Village Apartments has shocked the community in East El Paso. Court documents reveal that the tragic incident stemmed from a drug deal gone wrong involving THC “dispos” – disposable vape devices. Aldo David Flores, 17, has been arrested on a murder charge in connection with Castillo’s death on the night of May 14th.
Castillo, known as aspiring rapper GGRI$H, was fatally shot in the apartment complex parking lot during what was initially thought to be an argument but later revealed to be linked to a drug theft. The young man was with his relatives when he was gunned down by a shooter who fled the scene after the incident.
The investigation into the shooting led to the identification of the alleged shooter as Flores, who was apprehended on May 17th. He is currently being held on a $500,000 bond at El Paso County Jail. Detectives discovered THC cartridges in Castillo’s vehicle, indicating a drug deal between Castillo and Flores had taken place prior to the shooting.
Witnesses reported seeing two males in a damaged black sedan meeting with Castillo at the complex before the fatal shooting occurred. The shooter, identified as Flores, allegedly shot Castillo and fled the scene, leaving Castillo’s relatives unharmed but traumatized by the incident.
The tragic killing has sent shockwaves through the community, with social media posts offering condolences to Castillo’s family and friends. The investigation continues as authorities gather more evidence to build a case against Flores, who now faces a murder charge in connection with Castillo’s death.
The El Paso Police Department’s Crimes Against Persons Unit, along with the Gang Suppression Unit, played crucial roles in identifying and apprehending the suspect in this senseless act of violence. As the community mourns the loss of a promising young individual, the quest for justice for Castillo and his grieving loved ones continues.
