GLENVIEW, IL – A couple from a quiet suburb near Chicago experienced a terrifying ordeal when they were robbed at gunpoint just steps away from their front door. The incident has left them shaken, yet grateful to have survived the harrowing experience without physical harm.
Gregory and Angie Pulos had just returned to their Glenview home after an evening out in downtown Chicago when they became targets of an armed robbery. As they approached their front door, three masked men confronted them, brandishing firearms and demanding their valuables.
The couple, still in shock from the encounter, recalled the chilling moment when they were forced to lie down on their stomachs with guns aimed at their heads. “It was surreal,” Gregory said, recounting the split-second decisions they had to make to stay alive. “We just wanted to give them what they wanted and get out of it safely.”
The robbers made off with a purse, wallet, cell phones, clothing, and approximately $60,000 worth of jewelry. Despite the loss of these valuable items, the couple emphasized that their lives and health were what truly mattered.
Police reported that the suspects fled the scene in a Jaguar SUV, which was later found abandoned in Chicago. Authorities are currently investigating the case, but no arrests have been made.
The incident has raised concerns in Glenview, a town known for its low crime rate. Residents are urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the police.
The Pulos family is now focused on moving forward, drawing strength from the lessons instilled by Gregory’s father. “He always said that material things can be replaced, but your life can’t,” Gregory reflected.
