NEW YORK (AP) — An elderly woman from Staten Island, New York, was found dead in her home, and her own son has been charged with her murder, according to police.
Rosalie Sutera, 82, was discovered on Jan. 17 at her home on Wolcott Ave. in Eltingville, where medics initially found no apparent signs of trauma. However, her death was later ruled a homicide by the city Medical Examiner.
Carl Sutera, 59, was arrested and charged with murder on Tuesday, and he remains in custody without bail at Rikers Island, according to police records.
