Shooting in Southeast Dallas Leaves Man Dead, Juvenile Injured: Police Under Investigation

Dallas, Texas – Police in Dallas are currently investigating a tragic shooting incident that resulted in the death of a man and the injury of a juvenile in southeast Dallas over this past weekend. The incident took place on Alcorn Avenue, near Elam and Jim Miller Roads, around 8:30 pm on Sunday night.

According to investigators, the victim, 33-year-old Jose Garnados-Cerritos, succumbed to his injuries at the scene from a gunshot wound. Additionally, a 12-year-old was also wounded in the shooting and was rushed to the hospital for treatment. Fortunately, reports indicate that the juvenile is in stable condition following the incident.

Notably, the driver of the vehicle involved in the shooting, along with a second juvenile passenger, escaped without any injuries. Dallas Police Department (DPD) officials believe that the shooting initially took place on Jonelle Avenue before the driver proceeded to Alcorn Avenue, where authorities were summoned.
