Valley View, Texas – A deadly series of storms wreaked havoc in Texas, Oklahoma, and Arkansas, resulting in at least 15 fatalities and extensive destruction. The storms tore through homes, including a truck stop where numerous individuals sought refuge in a restroom as the severe weather unfolded. The impacted region, stretching from north of Dallas to the northwest corner of Arkansas, faced a significant amount of debris and devastation, leaving tens of thousands of residents without power.

In Cooke County, Texas, near the Oklahoma border, seven fatalities were reported after a tornado barreled through a rural area close to a mobile home park. Meanwhile, in Oklahoma, two individuals lost their lives amidst the destruction caused by the storms, which also left guests at an outdoor wedding injured. The aftermath of the storms also led to power outages affecting a substantial number of households in the area.

Evidently, the damage was severe, as described by Cooke County Sheriff Ray Sappington, who highlighted the trail of devastation left behind. The losses included two young children, ages 2 and 5, in addition to three family members found deceased in one house. Hugo Parra, a resident near Valley View, shared the harrowing experience of seeking shelter with dozens of others in a truck stop bathroom, only to emerge and witness the destruction wrought by the storm.

Furthermore, Arkansas also faced the brunt of the severe weather, with at least five individuals losing their lives in the calamity. The storm’s impact was widespread, leading to downed power lines, destroyed homes, and blocked roads.
