Search Underway for Murder Suspect After Woman Discovered Deceased in Box in Mohave County

KINGMAN, Ariz. — Authorities are searching for a suspect linked to the homicide of a woman discovered in a box last month in Mohave County. The investigation began on Sept. 5 when deputies were alerted to a “suspicious package” in a remote desert area near Windmill Ranch Road, east of Kingman. A local resident reported the discovery while checking his property.

Upon arrival, deputies confirmed the presence of a deceased woman inside the cardboard box. Subsequent identification revealed the victim as 57-year-old Carolyn Ann Bosher, a transient from Las Vegas. Evidence indicates that Bosher had encountered legal trouble shortly before her death, having been arrested for indecent exposure in Las Vegas just six days prior to the grim finding of her body.

Investigators are attempting to piece together the events leading to her death. A witness reported seeing a vehicle with its trunk open near the wash on the night of Sept. 4, the evening before her body was discovered. However, the witness was unable to provide a clear description due to poor visibility.

While detectives have yet to disclose the cause of death, authorities do not believe the murder occurred at the site where her remains were found. This detail raises questions about the timeline and location of Bosher’s demise, complicating the ongoing investigation.

The Mohave County Sheriff’s Office is collaborating with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department as they work to uncover leads that could identify the individual responsible for Bosher’s death. Both law enforcement agencies are appealing to the public for assistance, urging anyone with information relevant to the case to come forward.

The sheriff’s office can be contacted at 928-753-0753, with callers asked to reference investigation number DR# 25-033587. As the search for answers continues, the local community remains unsettled by the tragic turn of events, highlighting the broader issues of safety and transient populations in the region.
