Police indicated that the group was allegedly operating under the directives of Pascal Postal, the owner of Franco India Pvt. Ltd. Reports highlight that the assailants attempted to seize control of an unoccupied property by unlawfully welding the company’s gate shut, effectively blocking access to property owners, including Ganesh Jagannath Salunkhe, who filed a first information report (FIR) detailing the assault.
What began as a land encroachment conflict transformed into a violent ambush, as a group of armed individuals attacked Salunkhe and his associates. The attackers employed stones, bricks, and chili spray, resulting in significant injuries to the victims. The altercation intensified when one assailant, armed with a licensed firearm, allegedly discharged shots at the group, further escalating the danger.
In response to the melee, police swiftly acted, arresting 21 individuals and initiating a case under multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) 2023, particularly citing provisions related to conspiracy and violent offenses. Additionally, representatives from law enforcement recovered an array of weapons at the scene, including four 12-bore rifles, both live and spent cartridges, along with various projectiles and assault tools.
Pascal Postal, along with his associates, including Jai Patil and numerous female security personnel, has been named in the case and remains at large.
