Pune, India — A late-night clash in Pune led to the arrest of four individuals following a violent confrontation that sent a local businessman to the hospital. The incident took place in Transportnagar as the 38-year-old victim and his friend, who had dined out for the evening, were attacked by a group while returning home.
According to the police, the violence erupted due to a minor collision involving the scooter of the complainant and the motorcycle of one of the alleged assailants. This minor incident quickly escalated into a serious altercation. Sub-Inspector Ashok Shirke of the Nigdi police detailed that what began seemingly as a trivial traffic mishap soon took a perilous turn when tempers flared.
The businessman, owner of a small enterprise in Akurdi, sustained internal injuries requiring medical attention at a private healthcare facility. Meanwhile, his accompanying friend escaped with minor bruises. The police swiftly responded to the episode, arresting four men implicated in the brutal assault.
Authorities identified the suspects as Om Dalvi, 22, Omkar Avande, 24, Ganesh Kumbhar, 26, and Pritesh Jadhav, 21. All are residents of Siddhivinayaknagar in Nigdi. They now face serious charges, including attempt to murder and voluntarily causing hurt, under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
The investigators revealed that tensions heightened after the victim and his friend physically retaliated against one of the suspects following the collision. This reaction prompted the suspects to summon additional accomplices to the location, which led to further violence.
Police are continuing their inquiries and searching for two more suspects believed to be part of the group involved in the attack. The community, usually known for its tranquility, has been shaken by the incident, raising concerns about road rage and public safety.
