Pregnant woman pistol-whipped, robbed after dog bite incident

MEMPHIS, TN – A Memphis woman, six months pregnant, endured a vicious attack after her dog’s bite on a child led to unforeseen violence. The incident occurred at the Cooper Young Apartments, where what began as an apology attempt escalated into a brutal assault.

The woman’s boyfriend was walking their dog when a child was bitten, necessitating medical attention for the minor injury. Returning later to apologize, the woman was met by two teenagers armed and masked, demanding answers about her boyfriend and the dog.

Despite her attempts to defuse the situation, the confrontation quickly turned violent. Seeking to escape, she was pursued and cornered in a stairwell, where the attackers delivered repeated blows to her head and body. She focused on shielding her unborn child throughout the ordeal.

The attackers made off with her iPhone and purse, escaping in a black Nissan Altima. Police, who had previously tried to stop the vehicle, are continuing their search for the suspects. The incident has raised significant concerns about safety and security at the apartment complex.

The victim has called for urgent improvements to security measures, including operational cameras and secure gates. With a third child on the way, she and her family are seeking a safer environment, launching a GoFundMe campaign to aid their relocation.

The Memphis Police Department is appealing to the public for any information that could lead to the suspects’ capture.
