Pratt Man, 21, Pleads Guilty to Aggravated Battery in Hays Assault Case, Faces Probation

HAYS, Kan. — A 21-year-old man from Pratt entered a guilty plea this week concerning a violent incident involving a Hays woman that occurred in August 2024. Tucker Eisenhauer faced multiple charges, including aggravated battery, which he admitted to in Ellis County District Court, leading to the dismissal of four additional charges.

Court records detail that on August 25, 2024, Eisenhauer allegedly engaged in a series of violent acts against the victim, including an accusation of sexual assault where he reportedly confined her against her will. He faced charges of kidnapping for allegedly trapping her in his truck, as well as aggravated battery for physically shaking her, which allegedly resulted in an injury. Additionally, he was charged with criminal deprivation of property for taking the victim’s keys and phone during the confrontation.

Due to his lack of prior criminal history, Eisenhauer is likely to receive probation in accordance with Kansas sentencing guidelines, with a potential prison term should he violate his probation conditions. Both the prosecution and defense expressed a shared recommendation for an eight-month jail term, coupled with 12 months of probation.

The case has captured community attention, highlighting broader concerns about violence and safety. Victim advocates stress the importance of support systems for individuals affected by such violent acts while underscoring the need for harsher penalties to deter future incidents.

Eisenhauer’s sentencing is slated for November 6, where a determination will be made regarding the actual terms of his probation and potential jail time. As the date approaches, the community remains vigilant about the case’s implications, reflecting on the urgent need to address issues of violence against individuals and the mechanisms available for protection and justice.
