TUKWILA, WA – A postal worker was fatally shot outside a USPS processing center in Tukwila on Tuesday, prompting a manhunt for the suspect. The incident occurred on 27th Avenue South shortly before 4 p.m., according to local authorities.
Police believe the shooter and the victim were acquainted, though the precise motive remains unclear. The shooting caused panic among employees arriving for their shifts, including 90 Colaiste, who described the chaos that ensued after hearing multiple gunshots.
Witnesses reported hearing between eight and twelve shots. Colaiste, who had just arrived at the distribution center, recounted the harrowing scene, saying he saw people fleeing the building and later discovered the victim lying motionless inside.
The Tukwila Police Department confirmed that the postal worker died from a gunshot wound at the scene. This tragic event has left employees shaken, with one worker, Isaac Polster, recalling the moment he saw the alleged shooter holding a gun. Polster, who was nearby in a trailer, ducked for cover as the situation unfolded.
While Polster was unable to provide a detailed description of the shooter, other witnesses may have had a clearer view. Some employees reportedly attempted to pursue the suspect, but the individual managed to escape.
