Plastic Surgeon’s Wife Clings to Husband Amid Murder Trial on Son’s Deaths

Van Nuys, California – Rebecca Grossman, a socialite, is currently on trial for murder charges after she was accused of driving her Mercedes SUV at 81mph and causing a crash that resulted in the tragic deaths of two young brothers, Jacob and Mark Iskander, in 2020.

The trial, which began with jury selection, has garnered attention as Grossman’s plastic surgeon husband, Dr. Peter Grossman, stands by her side amidst allegations of an affair with former Dodgers star Scott Erickson. The trial’s second day saw Grossman leaving the court, gripping her husband’s arm, as she faces charges of second-degree murder and vehemently denies driving at 81mph in a 45mph zone.

According to testimony from witnesses and a former L.A. County sheriff’s deputy specialized in traffic crashes, it was revealed that Grossman was driving close to 70 mph when she struck the boys, with the car’s computer recording a speed of 73 mph. However, witnesses believe the actual speed was 81 mph. Grossman and Erickson were allegedly on their way to an apartment in Westlake Village during the time of the accident.

The trial is expected to last six weeks, and if Grossman is convicted of all charges, she could face up to 34 years in prison. In the courtroom, prosecutors intend to argue that Grossman was also under the influence of Valium, adding to the complexity of the case. Additionally, a California Highway Patrol officer is expected to testify about a previous incident in 2013, when Grossman was pulled over for speeding at 92 mph on the freeway.

This high-profile case has brought the spotlight onto issues of responsibility, accountability, and the tragic consequences of reckless driving. As the trial continues, the families of the victims are seeking justice, and the court is grappling with the weight of deciding a suitable outcome for an emotionally charged and complex case.
