Philadelphia, Pennsylvania – Philadelphia police are seeking the public’s help in identifying two suspects involved in a fatal shooting at a SEPTA bus stop that claimed the life of 17-year-old Dayemen Taylor. The incident occurred at Ogontz and Godfrey avenues in the Ogontz neighborhood, where a group of young people waiting at the bus stop were targeted by the gunmen.
According to authorities, the first suspect is described as a black male wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with distinct messages, while the second suspect is described as a black male in a light-colored hooded jacket. Both are considered armed and dangerous. The shooters fired more than 50 rounds with an automatic weapon, resulting in injuries to multiple victims.
The shooting left Taylor dead from multiple gunshot wounds. Police Commissioner Kevin Bethel stated that it appears Taylor was specifically targeted in the attack. Other victims of the shooting included a 15-year-old boy with a graze wound, a 14-year-old with a gunshot wound, a 50-year-old woman grazed by a bullet, and a 71-year-old woman shot in the head. The victims, except for Taylor, were reported to be in stable condition and expected to recover.
Surveillance footage captured the chaotic scene as the suspects fled the bus stop after the shooting. A $20,000 reward is being offered for any information leading to the arrest and conviction of the individuals responsible.
