MILWAUKEE, WI – A tragic incident unfolded in Milwaukee as a mother and father face charges in the death of their four-year-old son, known to neighbors as RJ. Authorities allege the boy was shot at close range by his father, Ralph Taylor, following a domestic dispute with his wife, Cassandra Taylor.
The horrifying event occurred inside an apartment on Northridge Lakes Boulevard, leaving the community in shock. Prosecutors have charged Ralph Taylor with first-degree intentional homicide and possession of a firearm by a felon. Meanwhile, Cassandra Taylor faces charges of neglect resulting in death and facilitating the purchase of the firearm used in the shooting.
According to court documents, the couple was embroiled in an argument when Ralph Taylor took the boy upstairs to a locked bedroom and fatally shot him. Neighbors, including D’Angelo Williams, rushed to provide CPR and contacted emergency services. Williams recounted the frantic efforts to save the child, while Ralph Taylor allegedly expressed concern about hiding his firearms.
In the aftermath, Ralph Taylor reportedly concealed the weapon in plastic bags and a storage container, which was later discovered by police. Investigators revealed that he had a history of sending Cassandra Taylor pictures of guns, urging her to buy them on his behalf.
The young victim, RJ, was described as having moderate to severe autism, often communicating through song. The family has chosen not to release a photo of the boy, preferring to grieve privately.
