ELIZABETH CITY, N.C. – Tragedy struck in Elizabeth City as a police officer fatally shot a man shortly after he allegedly killed another individual. The incident occurred in the early hours of Saturday, April 20, on North Poindexter Street near Colonial Avenue in the city’s Downtown area.
