OMAHA, Neb. — Omaha police were canvassing a North Omaha neighborhood and interviewing people early Sunday as they investigated a shooting that left a man hospitalized with life-saving measures underway.
The investigation centered on the area near 28th Street and Titus Avenue, where officers were called shortly after 12:20 a.m. Police found a man suffering from gunshot wounds and he was taken to a hospital while emergency efforts continued.
Investigators turned their attention to people who may have seen or heard what happened. Omaha Police Lt. Sean Sheridan said officers were interviewing other occupants of the residence and searching the surrounding area for additional witnesses.
Authorities had not established a publicly known sequence of events by Sunday morning. It remained unclear how many times the man had been shot, and police had not released information explaining what happened immediately before the shooting.
