Beaumont, Texas – A 19-year-old suspect has been arrested in connection with the murder of a store clerk during an aggravated robbery at a convenience store. The suspect, Keandre Robinson, was apprehended by the Beaumont Police only hours after the killing of the clerk, Sheikh Abir-Hossain, at the Kris Food Mart. A second suspect is still being sought by the police.
The incident took place on Friday, December 29th, at the Kris Food Mart where two suspects entered the store and robbed the clerk at gunpoint. One of the suspects shot and killed the clerk before fleeing the scene with stolen cigarettes. The police were able to identify Robinson and make an arrest through excellent police work and Crime Stoppers tips from the public.
Officer Haley Morrow stated that surveillance video from the store shows a heavyset man with dreadlocks entering the store armed with a handgun and wearing a dark jacket with a hood, carrying an orange bag. The second suspect was also captured on store surveillance, armed with a handgun and wearing black jeans and a black hoodie that says “NERD.”
Anyone with information on the whereabouts of the second suspect is urged to contact the Beaumont Police or Southeast Texas Crime Stoppers. Authorities have also emphasized that all Crime Stoppers tips are anonymous and tipsters may be eligible for a cash reward.
The arrested suspect, Keandre Robinson, has been charged with murder and has been set a bond of $800,000. The police continue to seek the second suspect and urge the public to come forward with any information that may lead to their apprehension.
