INDIANAPOLIS, IN – A date night turned deadly has resulted in murder and robbery charges against two teenagers in Indianapolis. The heartbreaking incident, occurring in January, has left a family struggling to cope with the loss of a cherished member.
Court filings reveal that the murder was the result of a date gone wrong, turning into a robbery. The family of the victim is adamant that the 19-year-old woman and her 18-year-old boyfriend, accused of the crime, face the full weight of the law.
Drill Prior, known for his commitment to his young daughter, was fatally shot in an ambush near 49th and Primrose. Prior had been in contact with Alexis Hawkins, who had agreed to meet him, while secretly planning with her boyfriend, Brian Winston Jr., to rob him.
Hawkins has allegedly admitted to being present at the crime scene, inside the victim’s car, but claims no participation in the shooting. Despite her claims, police have uncovered a trail of messages between the suspects that tie them to the crime.
The victim’s family, who recently celebrated the third birthday of Prior’s daughter without him, is left with a void that arrests cannot fill. They continue to seek justice, though they know it cannot replace their loss.
Hawkins has made her initial court appearance, while Winston’s court date is pending. As the legal process unfolds, the community remains focused on finding justice for a life taken too soon.
