Mobile Home Engulfed in Flames After Mysterious Explosion in Dacono; Residents Safe

DACONO, Colo. — A mobile home in Dacono was engulfed in flames Tuesday afternoon following a reported explosion. Firefighters responded to the scene just before 3 p.m. on Glen Heather Court, where they found the home entirely consumed by fire.

Rick Tillery, a public information officer with Mountain View Fire Rescue, confirmed that no one was injured in the incident. The residents were present and have been accounted for. Tillery described the damage as a “complete loss,” but fortunately, the fire did not extend to neighboring properties.

Multiple fire units were dispatched to handle the situation, with Mountain View Fire leading the operation and support from the Frederick-Firestone Fire District. Eyewitnesses reported seeing flames shoot from the home, prompting a swift response from emergency personnel.

Prior to the explosion, Black Hills Energy crews were addressing a gas leak in the area. While those crews had cleared the scene before the explosion was reported, the connection between the gas leak and the explosion remains under investigation. Fire officials are working diligently to determine the cause.

As the investigation continues, residents in the vicinity expressed relief that no injuries occurred. Community members are rallying to support those affected by the loss of their home. Local organizations and volunteers have offered assistance as residents work to pick up the pieces after this devastating event.

Fire officials will provide updates as more information becomes available. The situation remains fluid, and investigations into the cause of the explosion are ongoing. First responders are commended for their quick actions in preventing the fire from spreading and ensuring public safety.
