Missing Louisiana Teen Found in Pennsylvania Basement

PITTSBURGH, PA – A 13-year-old girl missing from Baker, Louisiana, was rescued from a Pennsylvania basement following an intense search. Authorities discovered her in a box, marking the end of a troubling case that spanned several states.

The girl was allegedly enticed by Keyshawn Croomedy, 26, through Snapchat. Promising adoption, he instead abused her, giving her alcohol and drugs before the assault.

A massive law enforcement effort, including SWAT and federal agencies, led to her discovery in Brighton Heights. Witnesses described the dramatic scene of her rescue.

Detectives uncovered that a woman from Washington, D.C., was involved, traveling with the girl to Pittsburgh. The U.S. Marshals Service tracked their movements, prompting the intervention.

In Georgia, 62-year-old Ronald Smith was arrested for his part in transporting the girl to Pittsburgh. The investigation links him to a broader network of individuals involved in her abduction.

Croomedy faces multiple charges, such as child trafficking and sexual assault. The girl is currently under medical care, with more arrests expected as the investigation progresses.

This case highlights the dangers of online interactions and the critical need for vigilant law enforcement collaboration to protect minors.
